Ingredients

Adjust Servings:
2 handfuls Gongura Leaves
1 tbsp Urad Dal
1 tbsp Coriander Seeds
3 tsp Oil
1 tbsp Sesame Seeds
5 -7 pcs Red Chilies
As Required Salt
1 tsp Sesame oil
1 tbsp Chana Dal
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
1 tbsp Peanuts
10 pcs Cashew
a pinch Mustard Seeds
a pinch Hing
a pinch Turmeric
2 -3 leaves Curry leaves

Andhra style Gongura Annam also called as Sorell leaves rice. Many recipes are made from gongura leaves but this one is famous , quick and easy to make delicacy with spicy and tangy flavors made using pre cooked rice and tossed with Indian spices . Gongura is a rich source of iron, vitamins, folic acid and anti-oxidants essential for human nutrition.

Wash and Dry Gongura Leaves

In a pan, add 1 tbsp Urad Dal, 1 tbsp Coriander Seeds, and 1 tsp Oil.

Add Sesame Seeds and 5-7 Chillies and mix well in the pan till they turn golden brown

Transfer all the ingredients into the mixer-grinder bowl and let it cool for a while and then grind them well

For Gongura or Sorell Leaves

Add 1 tsp oil in the pan with the 2 handfuls of Gongura or Sorell Leaves. Fry nicely till the raw smell vanishes

Add all the leaves into the mixer grinder powder and grind again. Add salt for taste

In the same pan add 1tsp oil and 1 tsp Sesame Oil and then add peanuts, cashews, mustard seeds, turmeric, chana dal, hing and mix well till they turn golden brown.

Add the grinded paste into the pan and also the cooked rice into the pan mix well.
